It would be great to apply global log format to both apache and nginx instead of doing it in the custom web application config each time. We export our logs to ELK (elasticsearch/logstash/kibana) stack so reviewing access/error logs is easier. Adding extra fields like server hostname, request time, website helps us debugging issues faster.

```
log_format main '$remote_addr $host $remote_user [$time_local] "$request" $status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" "$http_user_agent" $request_time $upstream_addr $upstream_cache_status';
```
